Basis Scottsdale is a unique Charter School based on the philosophies of Michael and Olga Block, that math and science are the languages of the 21st century. Their academic structure places an extremely heavy focus on these subjects to prepare students for life in an increasingly competitive world.
Featuring curriculum for both 5th (considered to be pre-6th) through 8th grades in the middle school and 9th through 12th grades, students focus on extremely high academic standards. Basis offers high level math and science courses for high school students and classes as diverse as Mandarin Chinese and Economics at the middle school level.
The unique curriculum combines strong academic practices from around the world, searching far and wide for the best possible professionals to educate students. Because of the strong emphasis on academic goals, Basis Scottsdale has earned a reputation around the Valley as a top-notch school. This is evident through their success on the AIMS (Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards) test, in which the school often places at either 1st or 2nd in the state.
